90 days complete – a healthier lifestyle to continue

For those of you that don’t know, I have just completed my 90 day challenge to reach my level 10. Everyone has a level 10 – it’s the best that you can be, the happiest that you can be and you have to work hard in order to achieve it. Now, although I am not quite at my level 10, the last 90 days have certainly set me well on my way there.
I have varied my exercise in the last 90 days and as I am human some days have been much better than others. However, I have without fail had my shake and used the products every day and only had cheat meals, not cheat days.
There are so many combinations of the F1 shake that you can have, it is impossible not to like them. I look forward to them every morning and it never feels like a chore.
I am so pleased with my results so far it just spurs me on to keep going and I know I will get there, I know it won’t always be easy but I know I will feel confident on my wedding day.

So my results were massive, I’m so happy and I honestly can’t remember the last time I was in the shape I’m in now. I am now 136 pounds, I lost 6% body fat which has led me to the safer end of ‘healthy’. I have lost a whole litre of fat that surround my internal organs – this was very important to me. I am also now 20 years old on the Metabolic Age Rating (MAR) as opposed to 33 where I started. Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) starts to decrease after the age of 16/17 years old so MAR indicates what age level your body is currently rated at.

Weigh your body and your food
I also measured parts of my body and I’ve lost 12cm around my waist, 6cm around my hips, 3cm off each thigh and a total of 34cm around my whole body.

#90daychallenge

These results just prove to me how Herbalife is changing my life, and to think it is just healthy nutrition made easy and convenient. I am no longer thinking about the number of pounds on the scale but how I feel and look is way more important.

Exercising wherever I can #noexcuses

As part of my weight loss journey I have been increasing my exercise and I have really noticed the change in shape to my body. Although I did start to enjoy running (especially as I was improving) circumstances have changed and I no longer have anywhere suitable where I can run. However that is no excuse to cut out the exercise and until I find a suitable gym, there are other ways I can keep up with it.

#noexcuses

I have noticed more and more that I need to concentrate on toning my body as well as continuing the cardio. Therefore, I have started a lot of strength training at home using YouTube videos. HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) has become very popular recently and it really is high intensity. A typical video lasts around 20 minutes so it’s great for people who are busy and if you can do it in the morning it’s done then for the day.

I tend to use Fitness Blender who are easy to follow and there are some pretty hard routines so I know I can really push myself with them. Also The Body Coach has a selection of HIIT workouts – I think everyone loves him and he’s very relatable in the videos as he is just as knackered as I am. Herbalife offer an amazing sports range so this helps me to enhance my performance and also recover for the next day.

Training like this not only burns calories when you do it but you also continue to burn them throughout the day and for a 20 minute workout – there really is no excuse. Sometimes I double up or I will do one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Trust me the feeling afterwards is totally worth it. I also always make sure I have my herbal tea before a workout as I feel it gives me that extra energy boost.

The peach flavour is spot on

I am really trying to increase my strength training in order to reduce my body fat even further and I’m going to continue working hard as part of my Herbalife journey.

What’s your #Level10? Join as a customer to reach your goals

A lot of people have pre-conceived ideas of what Herbalife is and I was exactly the same. Many people think “oh, that shake diet?!” or “I couldn’t do that, I’d be hungry all the time”. The truth is Herbalife is simple – it’s healthy nutrition that your body needs on a daily basis. Many people (myself included previously) do not know or understand the vital nutrients that your body needs and Herbalife basically provides this for you. It is important to eat every 2.5-3 hours and with the support of your coach – you should never feel hungry.

HERBALIFE is a nutrition plan and focuses on weight gain, weight loss, increasing lean muscle mass and improving overall health.

On your first meeting with your Herbalife coach you will have a wellness evaluation which looks at your weight, body fat, muscle mass, body water, visceral fat, physique rating, basal metabolic rate and metabolic age and finally your bone mass. Many people are surprised with some of their results after their wellness evaluation e.g. body fat is not visible to the naked eye. You may have an acceptable weight and figure, but could still be carrying more body fat than you think.

Fat vs muscle - lose the body fat not necessarily the weight!

The world's number 1 meal replacement shake Formula 1 is proven, based on science, as an effective way to control and manage your weight, when combined with a healthy, active lifestyle.

Half Way There

Sorry I have been away for a little while but I thought I would update you all on my progress so far and the ups and downs I have occurred in my challenge. As you may know, I have recently signed up to become an independent distributer for Herbalife. After initially trying the products and seeing some great results I decided to sign up to the 90 day challenge.

As with a lot of things in life I was really dedicated to this challenge in the beginning – had very little or no cheats and worked out at least 5 times a week. After 3-4 weeks I was moving house and there really are no excuses but I started to lose my initial motivation. I still exercised 3 times a week but I drank quite a bit of alcohol and went too far on my cheat meals. I knew that the exercise would not outweigh the amount of calories I was sometimes consuming.

Always remember

I knew in the back of my mind that I could do better and this really came to light when I was met with my first week of maintaining weight and not losing. I was disappointed but not surprised – I wanted the results so badly and knew I needed to stop having so many sneaky little treats as they clearly add up.

My motivation really came back when I bumped in to someone who I had not seen in a while and they told me that I looked great and looked like I had lost a lot of weight. They say it takes other around 4 weeks for others to notice your weight loss and this was on week 5 so I was really happy. I knew from that moment I had to push harder than ever because I was still not close to where I wanted to be.

Making my protein pancakes

I am now just over the half way mark in to my challenge and I’m more motivated than ever to get the results I’ve wanted for so long. It’s back to the gym 5 times a week and not reaching for that glass of wine after a stressful week because on the most special day of my life I want to look and feel as amazing as I have always dreamed of.

My personal #Level10

As you may know, I have recently signed up to become an independent distributer for Herbalife. After initially trying the products and seeing some great results I decided to sign up to the 90 day challenge and establish my own level 10.

EVERYONE HAS THEIR OWN LEVEL 10 - IT'S YOUR PERSONAL WEIGHT OR LIFESTYLE GOAL

In the UK there is a huge extra incentive about the 90 day challenge, not only are you aiming to reach your goal, whether that be weight loss, body fat loss or lean muscle gain, there is also a huge cash prize to be won for those who achieve great results. Males and females are judged separately and there are both regional and national cash prizes worth thousands of pounds to be won.

My level 10 will be achieved using the weight loss programme

Anyone can enter the challenge by using the Herbalife products, following a programme and taking advice from your distributor. It is judged on a combination of weight loss, % body fat loss, % lean muscle gain and each individual personal level 10 story.

Show your own #Level10
1. Snap a picture of yourself on day 1
2. In one hand hold a newspaper displaying the date
3. In the other hand hold a piece of paper displaying your starting figures

I have my own personal #Level10 and I also set myself goals in between to ensure that I am always improving – whether it be running that extra mile or experimenting with different healthy foods. I want to finally be happy with my body and with that wedding dress always in the back of my mind I know that this journey will have a happy ending.

Run Forrest RUNNNNN

As part of my weight loss journey I am also increasing my exercise and trying to get back in to running. It is something I have wanted to be good at for a while now but I still find it very challenging. I often meet people who haven’t run for ages but then always end up being faster than me – it’s a little disheartening but I’m not giving up, The London Marathon is still in my sights.

I have the app Map My Run on my phone which I always record my exercise on although I mainly use it whilst running to try to decrease my time. I am currently in a challenge on the app called The Extra Mile where you basically have to run as many miles as you can in one month and compete against your friends. This is helping to motivate me and I REALLY WANNA WIN!!!

My trusty app

I competed in a 10k last year with a few friends and my aim was to complete the race in less than an hour. I also chose to raise money in memory of my dad for The British Heart Foundation which really spurred me on. In true Thai style the race was not measured correctly and it ended up being 11.5k. I worked out my average and JUST about completed the 10k part in less than an hour and also came 5th place in my age category. I will be taking part in another 10k race shortly and I need to reduce my time so I try to run around 5 times a week.

I couldn't believe it that I came 5th!!!

I also take advantage of Lee’s football stadium when I can and run up and down the stairs there for some high intensity training. Although I mainly run as part of my exercise I do get bored if I always do the same thing so I quite enjoy doing the stairs. After each cardio session I also add some weights, squats, sit ups as this helps to speed up your metabolism (something I need to do drastically).

Stairs day

I am really trying to increase my fitness levels so I’m going to continue working hard as part of my diet.

Week One

I am well in to my first week with Herbalife’s #90daychallenge #level10 and wanted to share my thoughts and experiences with you all so far.

Just to note that before I started this diet I took my 'before' photos the night before which I will be sharing with you all at a later date.

I’ve obviously tried the shakes before and the strawberry flavor is quickly becoming my favourite. I usually have it with fruit and milk in a morning and then with either milk or water for my lunch. This morning I just went simple and tried it with milk and frozen strawberries and it was delicious but it also goes great with bananas, blueberries or whatever fruit you like. I try not to eat too much fruit throughout the day because of all the sugar but if I have it in the morning I can easily burn it off throughout the day.

My favourite flavour so far!

Anyone who knows me will know that I am a very organised person and this has certainly helped so far with my challenge. As long as I am planning ahead I find that it’s actually quite enjoyable. I don’t want to leave my snacks or my meals until the last minute so that I am left with something that I don’t enjoy. So keeping it interesting is very important – there’s no point having the same snacks and meals every day and there are so many nice foods that you can eat without it being a miniscule portion.

For my snacks I’ve been having scrambled eggs, tuna, high protein yoghurts, nuts and Herbalife protein bars which are great for the chocolate intake that you might need. I also sometimes combine these snacks together but I am mindful that for weight loss the snacks should not increase 150 calories.

Snack - Herbalife chocolate peanut protein bar and natural yoghurt

I know it is my own fault that my metabolism is so bad after years of missing breakfast, other meals and then binging in big meals. This diet never leaves me feeling hungry as I’m eating so regularly and I am making a promise to myself that once my metabolism improves – I cannot ever let it drop again.

#90daychallenge #level10

20lbs to go

I have recently signed up to become a member of Herbalife due to a number of reasons – firstly I am getting MARRIED!!! Secondly I was looking for a new business opportunity and most importantly, I want to live a healthier lifestyle.

Starting my new journey as a Herbalife member

Herbalife founder, Mark Hughes started Herbalife back in 1980 and it has since become a successful business helping people live healthier lifestyles in more than 90 countries all over the world.

Herbalife caught my attention when my fiancé, who is a professional athlete, used the products to enhance his performance. I soon discovered that Herbalife could benefit me on a different level as my partner began to see the benefits and explain the products to me. His positive attitude and belief in the products soon had me keen to start my own weight loss programme. After 4 weeks I saw positive changes in my body including increased energy throughout the day and decreased body fat.

Lee in action

I have now decided to embark on the #90daychallenge #level10 starting Monday (1st February 2016). Unfortunately I did not follow the standard rule and my January has been pretty naughty so this is it, no more excuses and time to change my life.

Monday 1st February - it all starts here

Although I am not proud to reveal my current weight I will tell you all that I am starting this challenge at 148 pounds and the only reason I am saying that is because I am determined that I will never be this weight again. Through a combination of exercise, Herbalife products and a good sleeping pattern, I am confident that I will achieve a bride’s body to be proud of.
